POSITION DESCRIPTION:



The Business Process Engineering Lead will be responsible for the success of high profile operational projects that incorporate defining and ensuring standards and practices are being developed and maintained throughout the organization. The individual will be charged with assessing risk, defining and reporting on key measurement indicators.

This role will be accountable for defining improvements on project and operational efficiencies and costs, speed and accuracy of delivery, demonstrating how operational efforts align with strategic objectives and assist all levels of management in achieving these goals.

This role requires a highly motivated individual who will also act as an advocate of focusing on meeting objectives and nurturing a continuous improvement culture.



SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:



Technical Expertise:

• Addresses the most complex design and troubleshooting problems in technology, typically involving large, inter-dependent systems and/or new technologies.

• Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of leading edge technologies, plans for the future of a Technology area, evaluates the applicability of leading edge technologies and uses this information to significantly influence future Technology strategy.

• Encourages flexible and adaptable architectures

• Brings technical knowledge from external sources and incorporates those ideas into Technology.

• Raises the bar of technical knowledge that exists within Technology by ensuring that information on leading edge technologies is maintained by more junior staff members



Analytical Skills:

• Develops work process or systems studies, feasibility studies, cost/ benefit analyses and implementation plans, and recommends new technologies and opportunities for automation and reengineering. This may include the diagnosis of a technical situation never encountered before.

• Designs functional and/or operational flows that achieve significant business impact.

• Identifies inconsistencies or discrepancies that are not obvious

• Anticipates potential obstacles and develops contingency plans



Project Role:

• Deep understanding of project management and development lifecycle – requirements through implementation and maintenance.

• Strong technical project management skills – 8+ years experience minimum – Project management of multi-million dollar budgets is strongly preferred.

• Deep knowledge of standards and practices – including an understanding of different methodological approaches (e.g. ITIL) - and possesses the ability to practically adapt these concepts for key initiatives.

• Interacts (e.g., leads meetings) with senior technologists. Reports progress, staffing needs, and important issues to senior management across multiple major projects and defines cross project dependencies in order to achieve project goals.

• Ability to work independently, analyze problems, and make decisions with minimal management intervention.

• Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously in high pressure environment where change is commonplace.

• Challenges current thinking and brings new ideas to improve results

• Ensure the standards and processes are globally applied and shared throughout the stakeholder community



Customer Role:

• Discusses systems development issues and opportunities across a range of user groups.

• Assimilates broad ranging customer expectations and converts them into tangible deliverables.

• Forms partnerships by developing shared accountability.



Business Knowledge:

• Works in partnership with colleagues and clients to develop global strategic plans for performance, capacity, testing and scalability of the business and more specifically for the division.

• Decisions and recommendations show an awareness of business priorities and commercial value.



Organizational Role:

• Takes a broad organizational view when solving problems.

• Builds and maintains influential relationships with senior management (both Technology and business).

• Understands how decisions are made, and influences decisions by effectively communicating the meaning, impact, and parameters of technology opportunities and risks.

• Builds and maintains relationships with peers and junior technologists by providing technology leadership.

• Adapts influence strategies to the needs and motives of the group.
