SpaFinder, Inc., the world’s leading, spa marketing, media and technology company, is seeking a Software Engineer. With headquarters in New York City, and international operations in the United Kingdom and Japan, SpaFinder is a growth-oriented company, regularly developing new revenue models, including its new technology division, SpaBooker, which launched in 2007.
As SpaFinder’s newest Software Engineer, you will work with a smart and fun team in a fast-paced, open environment to develop, enhance and maintain public-facing SpaFinder websites and back-end operations. You will be expected to work with a broad range of technologies like J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (Ajax, JSON, Prototype), and Tiles, and collaborate closely with our business partners to deliver solutions that have an immediate effect on end users. This position requires both front end and back end skills.
Essential Job Functions
• Develop and maintain all aspects of the SpaFinder web-sites, including the shopping cart, faceted spa search and admin tools.
• Use your mastery of JavaScript (and the Prototype library), HTML and CSS to provide the ultimate in user experience.
• Build rock solid back-end Java code using J2EE, Spring and Hibernate.
• Work closely with our UK development team to localize UK/FR/DE/ES/IT web-
Required Skills
• 3+ years of web development experience using Java/J2EE, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Spring, Hibernate, Struts/Tiles, SQL, AJAX, Prototype, cross platform/browser compatibility
• Process: junit, cruise control, ant
• SEO techniques; web standards
• Endeca Search experience is a huge plus
• Experience with eCommerce, preferably with multiple currencies
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
