Publishing Giant located in the Flat Iron District seeks a Junior Interactive Project Manager for an immediate long term temp position. This position has a strong possibility of becoming perm.
Major Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage cross-departmental projects.
• Work collaboratively with business owners/stakeholders and write/analyze business needs and business requirements to translate to product/application functional specification document.
• Develop and manage project plans; delivery dates for projects and perform risk assessment analysis.
• Ensure that the program scope and measurable success criteria have been defined.
• Manage and execute budgets for projects
• Liaise with technical/development staff to manage deliverables for the project/product
• Ensure consistent project management processes are followed.
• Develop operation flow chart of the product/application, functionality specifications, use cases/scenario
• Create mock-ups/wireframes
• Define QA measures when managing the development of new products.
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Ability to both manage a project team and be a strong individual contributor directly involved in the hands-on work necessary to achieve the deliverables
• Proven project management skills
• Ability to differentiate between tactical and strategic issues and influence internal and external customers
• Ability to offer solution options to business owners/stakeholders
• Detail and process oriented
• Strong decision making skills, self-motivated and goal oriented
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Creative problem solving and negotiation skills
• College degree required
Experience Needed:
• College grad with a minimum of 1-2 years professional or internship project management experience in online, web and/or information technology industries
• Experience in online media, content aggregation/distribution or content management system, search and/or ecommerce is a plus
• Experience in publishing, ideally book publishing, is a plus
• Client or vendor relationship experience is a plus
Technical Background:
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Visio)
• Microsoft Project/Server or any other project management software required
• Basic skills in CSS and HTML a plus
• Experience with enterprise email solutions (e.g., ExactTarget), web analytics solutions (e.g., Google Analytics, WebTrends, Omniture), and CRM solutions (SalesForce, Microsoft Dyanmics) a plus
