Position: Senior Network Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining our client’s networks; providing remediation and notification to our clients as needed, and providing mentoring and assistance to network engineers and administrators as appropriate.
**CC NP/CC SP and MC SE level skill sets or certifications required**
Work Hours: Varies due to client. Usually 8:30.5:30 hour shift including a 1 hour lunch break / 24 x 7 on call rotation
Over Time Exemption: Exempt Status
Travel Requirements: Mostly local to New York City, occasional travel to client’s sites in the Teri-state area.
Security Clearance: Must be able to pass criminal background check which includes fingerprinting and drug test.
POSITION SKILLS:
• Mature, responsible self-starter with 5+ years of experience
• Working knowledge of Switches and Routers. Cisco CC NP, CC DP or CC SP certification or skill level required
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MC SE) certification or skill level required
• 5+ years experience in server installation, configuration, operations and design
• Perform advanced Windows 2000 / 2003 / 2008 activities
• Understands the issues involved with administering and maintaining corporate infrastructure, including network connectivity, Internet Access, email, etc.
• Understanding of Storage Arrays, storage devices such as NASA and DASI
• Security certifications (e.g. CISSY, CI SA, SANS GI AC) desirable
• Skill in monitoring analysis and determining appropriate actions
• Install, DNA, configure, troubleshoot, and monitor core services such as Active Directory S, WINS, DHCP, group policy, MS Exchange 2000/2003/2007, SQL Server 2000/2005, IIS
• Specific knowledge and experience with Cisco products (CC NA/P preferred); CLAN, TCP/IP, CAT wiring & crossover, Cisco VPN Concentrators & Point-to-point VPN, Pix Firewall, ASA 5500, 802.11 Wireless protocols & AP technologies
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interacts with clients to resolve help desk issues; communicates in a professional manner, maintaining confidentiality.
• Monitoring of client’s infrastructures with industry monitoring tools such as LPI, EM, and Kacey
• Provides responses to clients in a timely manner
• Helps answer all trouble calls/emails and enters work orders into our tracking software.
• Assists in supporting corporate applications; internal corporate servers, user desktops, etc.
• Must be able to multitask and work under pressure
• Must be a team player with the ability to work well with a wide variety of personalities
• Documentation skills are very important
• Must be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to prioritize work and to work independently on multiple tasks
• Candidate must possess a broad knowledge of desktop applications such as: Windows XP, Microsoft Office Suite, Blackberry Software, and others
• Exposure to a Help Desk or Customer Support environment with remote hardware and software support
• Provide mentoring and assistance to network engineers and administrators as appropriate
• Prepare and maintain up-to-date and comprehensive network diagrams and documentation
• Willingness to travel to customer sites (Teri-state Area)
• Assist Sales Representatives in presentations to customers
• Provide support for IA’s open source PBX (Asterisk)
• Virtual Servers
• Enterprise Backup and Recovery
• Be available in an on call capacity 24 x 7
