Exciting, fast growing, highly profitable, privately held new media/internet 2.0 market leader is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with software testing, planning experience and an interest in working for a rapidly evolving, market leading technology product in the space where web content, new media and advertising coincide. The Quality Assurance Engineer will work closely with the QA Manager, the Software Development team, and Business Development to assure that the product is functioning effectively to ensure satisfied clients and drive revenue.
We are looking for someone that:
• Can test beta and live product
• Has experience writing comprehensive and easily reproducible bug reports
• Knows how to write and develop testing specifications
• Develops and executes standardized testing procedures
• Tests web applications written using the .Net framework
• Writes automated tests
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science/Engineering discipline)
• 5+ years as a software tester for web applications
• Demonstrated ability to write test specifications
• Organized, hands-on approach and sense of urgency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to accomplish critical business objectives
• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours (if necessary) to accomplish business objectives
• Experience testing web applications written using the .Net framework
• Experience testing web applications that utilize Ajax programming techniques
•Experience testing web applications utilizing ASP.NET pages, SOAP protocols, and web services
In addition, candidates possessing experience with the following skills will be given priority consideration:
• Writing automated test cases using standard tools (SilkTest preferred)
• Database experience (especially MS SQL)
• Build automation experience
•Experience using Visual Studio and Visual SourceSafe
•Experience working in an Agile development/testing process
•Experience working with distributed teams (across different geographic locations and time zones)
