Job Title: Manager Quality Assurance Date: January 15, 2009
Department: Quality Assurance Reports to: GM/President
Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager will initiate and lead the company’s quality system including the PWB fabrication, surface mount technology, IPC-610, IPC A-620, J-STD-001, military specifications, and AS9100 to increase productivity and improve quality. The QA Manager will oversee and supervise 2 to 4 employees within the production and final inspection process of handsets, headsets, transducers, switchboxes, amplifiers, prototypes, and electronics schematics.
Job Duties:
1. Develop a compliant quality assurance system that meets international quality standards and government requirements/standards for military communication applications.
2. Actively support Excellence Deployment and Lean initiatives by attending training where applicable, participating in Lean activities (5S, Kaizen, problem solving, error proofing, etc.), making suggestions and proactively supporting, implementing and driving sustainable improvements.
3. Oversee source inspection audits and implement corrective actions
4. Validate and verify inspection documents
5. Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation.
6. Through motivation, delegation of authority, evaluation, compensation, maintain an effective department to achieve company objectives consistent with established planning.
7. Administer work rules, disciplinary action; assist with internal company programs through communication with employees.
8. Appraise employee performance, recommend and/or approve change of status and salary adjustments.
Job Requirements:
Experience with engineering and manufacturing schematic designs and processes.
Working understanding of PWB fabrication and surface mount technology.
Working knowledge of IPC-610, IPC A-620, J-STD-001, military specifications, and AS9100.
Ten years of related experience in fast pace manufacturing environment, including providing solid leadership to staff.
Leadership skills: ability to lead with integrity, honesty and trust; ability to deliver reliable, unique and leading edge solutions that exceed expectations; ability to act with energy, passion and responsibility; ability to collaborate to leverage and align all elements of the organization; ability to inspire every employee to reach his or her full potential and achieve excellence;
Computer skills: exposure to a networked environment using a Microsoft office suite such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Outlook, LabView, and Listen.
