The purpose of this position is to provide technical repairs and maintenance throughout the building as directed.
1.This position requires availability for all shift assignments including the evening and overnight shifts.
2.This position requires a diverse array of technical skills.
3.As this is a guest contact position, this individual must be able to communicate politely, efficiently, and be able to professionally deal with stressful situations.
4.This individual must be capable to participate in a team structure and always maintain a respectful posture with guests and associates alike.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.This individual must be technically proficient and familiar with all property systems and infrastructure.
2.Maintain the highest level of safety standards.
3.Prioritize service needs while under pressure.
4.This individual must be able to perform basic repairs and maintenance procedures as directed throughout the property.
5.Troubleshoots equipment using proper tools in a skilled craftsman-like manner
6.Performs assignments as directed by the Dir Engineering.
7.Assumes the duties of carpentry, plumbing, fixing doors, running cables, grounds maintenance, etc. throughout the property.
8.Performs general patching and painting, sheet rock repairs throughout the property.
9.Performs deliveries of air conditioners, filter, construction material and anything relative to the Engineering Department.
10.Maintain Air Conditioning Units.
11.Repairs or replaces vinyl wall covering material.
12.Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment.
13.Perform and follow up on all directions and projects assigned by Director of Engineering
14.Completes AM / PM checklist(s) daily
15.Reports any damage or malfunction of equipment.
16..Keeps specific inventory up to management standards as outlined in department procedures manual.
17.Makes daily rounds of property to ensure smooth operation of all equipment.
18.Repairs all malfunctioning mechanic devices
19.Handles routine calls.
20. Completes paperwork and work orders.
21.Reports major tasks to Dir Engineering
CERTIFICATIONS:
The following certifications are required:
FDNY certificates of Fitness:
•Fire Safety Director
•Fire Guard
•Fire sprinkler and standpipe
•Air compressor operator
•Torch operator
•Compressed gas –CO2
2.Universal refrigerant certification
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Requires knowledge of all building systems including but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, finishes, safes, door locks, appliances, TV/Cable and Internet
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.Individual must be able to lift, push, pull and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, as needed.
2.Individual must have an average range of motion for bending and kneeling, as needed.
3.Individual must have average range of motion in traveling around the property and be able to use ladders, stairs and lifts as required to complete assigned tasks, as required.
4.Individual will be required to work outside the hotel during periods of inclement weather, as necessary.
5.Individual must be able to safely work with power tools, combustible gases, harsh chemicals, safety equipment and work gear.
Education: This position requires a minimum education of a high school diploma.
High School education or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum of three years job-related experience. Requires advanced knowledge of specialized or technical field or a thorough knowledge of the practices and techniques of a professional field. May require operating knowledge of manufacturing or computer equipment, or may require broad knowledge in clerical or service areas.
