MARKETING DIRECTOR FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (FREELANCE)

We are a full service consulting firm providing value-added solutions to the investment management industry. We specialize in institutional investment managers, hedge funds, private equity firms and funds of funds. We are client focused and partner with our clients, focusing on three things - integrity, client service, and providing outstanding value.
Our business is to enhance the productivity, efficiency and scalability of our clients by harnessing the power of their data. Our approach is to help firms implement solutions that result in faster, more efficient, repeatable processes generating accurate and meaningful business information for an array of end users. We are industry specialists across the front, middle and back offices that use the best technology to meet business needs.
Our firm has been in business for just over 6 years and our current team is comprised of 15 business and technology professionals. Thus far we have relied on building our business through “word of mouth”.
Our goal is to build out and formalize our marketing and business development processes. The Marketing Director role is a newly created part-time freelance opportunity intended to grow into a full time position with in the next 6 months. We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual that can take a leadership role in helping to get the business to the next level. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing team in a fast growing industry.
Responsibilities
This position engages in a variety of tasks which include the following responsibilities:
Sales/Marketing/Business Development
• Manage development of the web site content and ongoing maintenance including search engine optimization
• Design general marketing materials – brochures, web ads, etc.
• Develop, initiate and implement marketing campaigns employing such techniques as: surveys, webinars
• Develop strategies to identify new business opportunities and expand existing client relationships
• Prepare and present client development pitches, presentations and proposals
• Prepare targeted research on clients, prospects, and competitors
• Oversee direct mail and email initiatives
• Assist in building out use of our CRM system
• Guide the team of senior consultants in identifying, analyzing, developing, launching and promoting profitable service products
Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years related marketing leadership and management experience, preferably in a professional services firm
• Education: Bachelors` degree required. MBA or graduate level education desirable but not necessary for success. Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, Journalism or English preferred
• Possess strong leadership abilities in the areas of managing and executing marketing programs and tactics
• Must have experience developing and managing a budget and understanding financial implications of marketing programs
• Prior experience in the investment management industry, outsource provider or software vendor a major plus
• Must possess a strong attention to detail, ability to thrive in an unstructured environment
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Personal skills/attributes: high level of initiative, true self starter, team player, flexible, adaptable, high energy, outgoing
• Must possess a have a high energy level, strong work ethic and be a creative thinker in a changing environment
