INTERNAL CONSULTANT, COUNCIL PARTNERSHIP
(Staff Position)
The Girl Scout Councils throughout the U.S. are chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA to deliver programs and services to Girl Scouts and the volunteers who support them. The Consultant, Council Partnerships serves as a primary Consultant to assigned Councils in a specific geographic region while establishing a strong working partnership with Council leadership through regular contact and onsite visits. Works collaboratively with Council leadership to plan for and build the infrastructure necessary to ensure that structures, systems and resources are in place to meet Council goals.
The Consultant?¦s function is to reviews financial statements, demographic data, membership data, operational reports and other informational pieces to assess the ?§health?? of the specific Council. She/he Utilizes the Core Business Strategy and other priorities of the movement to identify Council issues, develop solutions and assist Council leadership in constructing effective project plans. She/he ensures implementation of plans and tracks results. Provides direct services or brokers the services of other GSUSA areas as a way of providing the direct support necessary to achieve organizational priorities.
She/he builds, nurtures and maintains collaborative relationships across GSUSA to broker and provide Councils with needed services. Structures, staffs and leads cross functional work teams when necessary to address specific opportunities and challenges within Councils. She/he works to resolve, in a timely fashion, interpersonal and organizational conflicts within and between Councils utilizing appropriate best practices and mediation skills.
Up to 70% travel can be required.
Qualifications:
„X 5 to 8 years prior experience as consultant focusing on organizational development, strategy, business or process improvement, organizational realignment. Specific experience in mergers/consolidations a plus.
„X 2 to 3 years experience participating in and leading cross-functional work teams.
„X Experience with Microsoft office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Must be extremely comfortable with technology including the design and conduct of virtual meetings, e-learning sessions and other applications. Initiates ways to use technology that improve business and operational processes
„X Demonstrated experience in conceptualizing, designing and delivering consulting reports that are clearly and concisely written, that isolate core issues, identify challenges and provide viable and relevant alternative solutions. Must be comfortable presenting reports to a variety of audiences.
„X Demonstrated proficiency and experience in customer service with high standards of timeliness and responsiveness.
„X Demonstrated experience working in a highly collaborative environment both intra- and inter-departmentally where teamwork, collegiality and self motivation were necessary for success. The consultant must possess high level oral and team-building skills.
„X Demonstrated experience in setting and managing multiple priorities with sometimes conflicting deadlines.
„X Up to 70% travel with a Valid drivers license required; and the ability to drive to-and-from various geographic regions/destinations to Councils requiring a combination of day trips, overnight and weekend travel required.
„X Bachelors Degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, or the equivalent in directly related experience required. Masters Degree in Business Administration or Organizational Development preferred.
