At MOGO, we are looking for a critical member of our senior management team to help us build simple, innovative, convenient consumer loan products. We want to achieve exponential growth in loan volume while managing bad debt ratios, default rates and quickly collecting on accounts. That is where you come in. As the Director, Credit Risk some of your major responsibilities will be to: • Advise the senior management team and creates predictive models that allow MOGO to achieve exponential growth in loan volume while managing bad debt ratios, default rates, and quickly collecting on accounts• Develop credit risk practices that leads to credit risk being a core competency at MOGO and a source of critical competitive advantage• Develop credit risk solutions that positively impact the bottom line, contribute to a positive customer experience, and a simple loan process• Contribute to the design and testing of new products; advises on strategies for achieving simple, convenient and innovative unsecure loan products• Conduct credit risk analysis and qualitative and quantitative data modeling• Develop and reviews credit scorecards to rank credit risk potential of new and existing customers and products• Partner with collections and other departments to improve business processes such as the application and loan renewal process • Stay on top of consumer lending trends and identifies new approaches for modeling and credit risk analysis• Build and manage a credit risk teamYou would be the ideal candidate if you have in depth expertise in consumer lending particularly in the sub-prime market, you have at least fifteen years experience, you have been involved in the development of innovative financial services products and you have the desire and ability to work in a fast growing company that is building its infrastructure while growing quickly. To learn more about mogo check out www.mogomoney.com. A Leading Custodian seeks a Statutory Tax Accounting Accountant to work in their Central Finance Department. The position sits in a team of 4 people who are responsible for Statutory and Tax accounting for UK entities.
Statutory accounts:
Statutory/Financial Accounting
-Preparation of legal entity statutory accounts
-Accounting for differences between UK and US GAAP and associated reconciliations
-Preparation of year end audit files for group legal entities/units
-Liaise with external auditors during year end audit and quarterly reviews
-Assistance in the multi currency consolidation of statutory group annual financial statements (where required)
-Preparation of legal entity financial information for periodic Board meetings
-Analysis of the impact of new accounting standards/corporate accounting policies and communication of this to the wider Finance department
Balance sheet reconciliations
-Preparation of reconciliations for certain balance sheet accounts, ensuring that the underlying accounting is in line with relevant GAAP and Corporate Accounting policies
Month end close
-Preparation of month end journals for intangible assets, goodwill etc
-Equity income roll-up journals
Taxation/VAT
-Assistance in preparation of VAT returns and related accounting
-Preparation of corporation tax provisions of UK entities
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, or equivalent) with excellent technical accounting knowledge including UK GAAP reporting. It is likely that you will have had experience auditing large corporate firms as well as having worked on statutory account preparation.
