This position requires an individual who displays significant competency and experience in writing technical documents for a wide variety of audiences. This individual should be capable of writing user guides for software products and tools, with a focus on concise language and meeting audience needs. Enthusiasm, conscientiousness and ability to work in a team environment are a necessity. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Job Responsibilities · Gather data from market requirements documents, functional specifications and implementation plans and from interviews with engineers and product managers, and to translate that information into useful customer documentation. · Research, develop and write content for electronic and printed manuals, Help files, knowledge bases, user guides, conceptual guides, installation procedures, reference guides, developer`s guides and on-screen text. · Install and test software and hardware for accuracy and consistency with documentation, identifying and correcting problems in the documentation. · Create graphical images, flow charts, and diagrams for inclusion in documentation. · Review, edit, and proofread materials written by others. · Must be able to ensure accuracy, timeliness, ease of learning, and ease of use of documentation. · Create technical marketing content as needed. Experience and Job Requirements: · Self-starter, self-organizer.· Experience writing end-user software documentation and training manuals;· Ability to deliver documents on schedule and of quality;· Strong command of the English language in both a written and verbal capacity;· Ability to analyze audience needs and determine most effective approach to meeting them;· Must possess a keen attention to detail, the ability to effectively multitask, and excellent time management skills;· Ability to initiate contact, communicate clearly, and create relationships with high levels of trust and credibility;· The ability to set high goals for yourself and can work well with others to achieve them;· Localization experience, a plus;· Branding experience, a plus;· B.S. required;· 2 to 4 years experience as a technical writer producing end-user documentation in a software development environment. Proficiency with the following documentation software:· MadCap Flare· Adobe Framemaker· Microsoft Word · Adobe Acrobat · Macromedia Captivate a plusLocation: New York (212 area code)Amityville, Long Island (631 area code) Primarily responsible for providing PA support to the RVP, this is a busy and challenging role requiring drive, initiative, professionalism and first rate secretarial skills. In addition, there will be project duties to support the business, and a requirement to provide ad hoc support to members of the AIG Travel Assist Senior Management Team.
Providing PA support to the RVP, involving:
- extensive diary management
- co-ordinating meetings (including booking rooms, greeting guests, arranging sandwich lunches or restaurant bookings)
- answering the phone, fielding calls, responding to and dealing with queries, relaying accurate messages etc.
- opening post, managing e-mails and where necessary replying to correspondence
- managing expenses
- drafting and sending out letters and other contractual documentation
- controlling all signatory requests
- carrying out research, analysing data and compiling relevant information for review
- producing management information upon request e.g. sales and / or claims trends
- providing general administrative support to the management team as required, such as co-ordinating management information and statistics reports, sending out communication memos, working on joint projects and providing cover at times of absence
- researching and investigating issues and problems, establishing facts, producing summaries and supporting project work
- liaising with both senior management and internal departments
Project management duties may include:
- administering the quarterly review process
- administering the year-end / seasonal business data for stakeholders in the UK and USA
- budgetary control/reporting
- keeping general filing up to date
- accessing and controlling confidential information relating to business sensitive information and personnel files
- ad hoc administrative and project duties, as and when required
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Professional with internal and external clients, and ability to work with people at all levels. Excellent analytical, numerical and systems skills with the ability to learn new skills quickly and use initiative.
Highly organised with first rate secretarial skills, high level of attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous project management and secretarial experience preferred, shorthand helpful but not essential. Ability to respond to conflicting demands which may be on an urgent and ad-hoc basis, and prioritise workload appropriately. Confidentiality and integrity is paramount
Previous experience of working within an FSA regulated business desirable.
