Character Brands is located in bustling downtown Manhattan. Our offices cover two floors in the Barnes & Noble Building on 6th Avenue between 21st and 22nd Streets. This area is also known as the Chelsea District or the Toy District and is the home of the International Toy Fair.
Job Title:
Sr. Marketing Associate
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the day to day management of an assigned category of business.
- Responsible for executing marketing and product development related strategies to ensure achievement of sales and profit objectives.
- Interact and maintain the relationship with cross-function internal partners
- Responsible for tracking product development progress; track and monitor production dates, ship dates and work with operations to monitor customer dates to make sure deadlines are met.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with licensors.
- Work with the Licensing Coordinator to track submissions and approvals from the Licensor
- Assist in gathering information used to conduct consumer and competitive research projects.
- Provide recommendations based on business analysis to improve sales in order to meet financial objectives.
- Development and management of Marketing Reports (TLP, costing reports, Line Lists, Marketing Brief etc).
- Prepare and present marketing presentations for external and internal customers (management & retailers).
- Assist with tradeshow set up and customer presentations as requested.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Required:
- Bachelor`s degree in Marketing/Business or related; MBA preferred.
- 3-5 years of similar `consumer product` marketing or licensing experience.
Previous product development experience
SKILLS:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills as well as strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to handle a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Computer proficiency: MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Must be a self-starter with a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to work independently as well as be a team player.
- Ability to prioritize work in order to meet important deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills
- Solid presentation skills.
- Product management and/or product development experience.
- Excellent follow up skills.
- Some travel is required.
