AIG UK is looking to recruit an experienced VAT Accountant to become part of their busy Finance team based in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading insurance provider.
Job Description:
- Completion of quarterly VAT returns for the AIG UK Services Ltd VAT group, which consists of 27 member companies.
- Recording of all quarterly income and production of associated spreadsheets
- Assist with Intercompany invoicing checks and subsequent coding issues.
- Record and analyse all company expenditure (TA reports, input, claims expenses analysis etc).
- Record and produce associated calculations regarding the company`s imported services VAT liability.
- Liaise with group members in order to collate quarterly VAT returns for each entity. Process any corrections relating to submissions and deal with any group member queries.
- Assist non group members in completing their VAT returns as required and perform VAT audits when necessary e.g. AIG Trade Finance.
- Complete the company annual adjustment and capital goods scheme adjustment.
- Perform quarterly reconciliations of VAT accounts in the AIG UK and AIG UK Services general ledgers.
- VAT account adjustments/corrections/switch journals and review of VAT accounts, w/offs and analysis work etc.
- Non recoverable recharges etc.
- HMRC disclosures and VAT return adjustments/associated journals. - Coding of payment requests and receipt vouchers.
- General VAT consultancy. Working to resolve VAT queries within the AIG UK group of companies and consultation with internal/external entities in order to do this.
- Assist with IT systems developments and other projects relating to VAT.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Attend workshops and keep up to date with latest legislation.
Skills & Knowledge required:
? Proven track record in a VAT role.
? Demonstrate a competent ability to prepare and produce accurate:
? Reports
? Degree educated (or equivalent)
? Part-qualified accountant

The Company:
Our client is a well known company in the technology and software industry. They have offices worldwide and are a leader within the industry. They are currently looking for a Sales Engineer based in Berkshire.
The Role:
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing pre and post technical sales and will involve the design and development of software applications and the implementation of these software solutions. There will be a high degree of travel involved, up to 4 days per week as it is a very much client facing role.
Candidate Profile:
The role as a Sales Engineer requires someone with a strong design and development background that enjoys customer facing roles and displays a quick thinking approach to integrating software. Skills wise - the person is likely to have a strong background in C++ or Java development with object data (ideally .Net) experience. The successful candidate will have a proven application development experience and strong leadership skills demonstrated by project management responsibilities. The person will need to show a proven ongoing involvement with the design and coding of complex applications. The candidate needs to have an understanding of the business considerations of application development, support and deployment.
Candidate should preferably have 5 years or more experience in the following:
-Object technologies
-Relational database concepts, SQL, ODBC and JDBC
-Web technologies including XML, HTML, Java, Java- and VBScript
-User interface environments such as Visual Basic, PowerBuilder, Delphi
-Operating Systems including Windows NT/95; UNIX and Open VMS
-Exposure to system languages such as C, C++, shell scripting
