ABOUT US:
Freelancers Union, a national non-profit organization, represents the needs and concerns of today’s independent workforce through advocacy, information and service. We are passionate about our mission to improve working life for independent workers - a community representing 30% of the U.S workforce. And we’re the people behind all those insurance ads with the beehive that you see on the subway.
OUR CULTURE:
Beyond our mission, we’re also passionate about and proud of the culture and work environment we’ve created. We believe everyone has an important contribution to make toward achieving our goals, both through collaborative teamwork and independent initiative. The atmosphere here is loose, fun, and friendly.
OUR TECHNOLOGY TEAM:
We are experiencing exceptional growth and technology plays a central, critical role in keeping pace with our growth. Our creative, dedicated and agile IT team is constantly in search of fresh ideas, new technologies and original input from team members. We’re looking for a talented Linux Systems Administrator with exceptional skills in:
• Open source apps (nagios, apache, php, pgsql, amanda, etc.)
• Kernels, Linux (Debian/Gentoo/rhl), Unix, clustering
• Virtualization (VMware), backup, recovery, load balancing
• SAN, Cisco pix`s and routers, telephony, security (Cisco)
• Multi WANS, DNS and other important technologies.
These are the core skill sets that we require, but our organization and this position will expose you to many other technologies and experiences and provide the opportunity to take ownership of your own projects and work collaboratively to provide ideas and strategy for best results on others. We’re also looking for an open mind, an aptitude and appetite for fun, and a desire to contribute to an outstanding cause.
