Help Desk Position – Part Time
Flexible Four Hours Shifts between 8:30AM - 7:00PM
Introduction:
• To provide trouble shooting, helpdesk systems administration and other IT services to assure a high quality IT network environment.
Part time(20 HRS) position with growth and training opportunities in the areas of remote network administration, support and troubleshooting.
Job Description:
• Password issues,
• Local vs Global/Network printing problems,
• Remote Access {RAS-VPN}
• log-ins, IDs, Access issues, etc
Reset end user passwords for network and proprietary applications
Provide timely, courteous web, phone & email support to users on a variety of software applications
(MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet Explorer, etc
• Record call information/diagnosis, resolution, etc in ticketing system. (will train if no exp)
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues including single workstation, printers, entire site/branch, or application using
Windows XP Remote Desktop Connection, VNC Viewer, or Microsoft Net meeting.
• Handle severity one issues as required including WAN/LAN troubleshooting.
• Ability to multi-task necessary in this high volume environment
• Support Network peripherals-printers, etc;
• Resolve issues with OUTLOOK (key), MS Office, Web tools-Internet Explorer, Windows 95/98/2000/NT/Xp, Symantec Antivirus,
*Under direct guidance, installs, configures, fine-tunes, maintains, supports and troubleshoots appropriate systems, platforms,
and/or operating environments for both Servers and Workstations
*Maintains system integrity with ability to apply security settings
*Performs systems maintenance and upgrades as needed, including backups and restores
*Solves routine problems independently; difficult problems with some assistance
*Maintains Help Desk Application and knowledge base
*Documents and monitors incident and work requests per departmental procedures
*Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone calls, voice mail, email and in-person requests for assistance
*Assists with evaluation of new hardware and software technology
*Fulfills routine communication requirements, including system documentation and status reporting
*Provides staffing for systems support to meet Service Level Agreements, including participating in after-hours and on-call support rotation as needed
Skills
1.
1-3 years of help desk experience
Working knowledge of servers and operating systems including
Windows and Citrix environments
Working knowledge of software applications including MS Office Suite
Excellent customer service skills
Strong attention to detail
2.
1-2 years experience in a Help Desk Environment.
Strong communication skills
Basic understanding of the IT environment and components required
WINDOWS (2000), WINDOWS (NT), WINDOWS (XP), AIX, SUN SOLARIS, UNIX, MICROSOFT EXCEL, MICROSOFT POWER POINT,
MICROSOFT WORD, TELEPHONY.
Special Training Desired
Associates in Computer Science OR 1 to 2 years experience as a Technician

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of customer service experience and 1-2 years of IT help desk experience.
• Outstanding customer service skills to provide exceptional client support in a fast-paced environment
• Basic understanding of the following areas of technology:
o General Networking
o Remote Access/VPN
o Microsoft Office & OS
o HP, Dell Latitude laptops & Optiplex desktops
o Remote Control software
• Must be proactive, self driven, and able to resolve problems with minimal direction and oversight
• Strong ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload to meet call service levels and complete tasks on-time
• Demonstrated initiative and drive to increase technical knowledge and client service skills
• Convey a positive and professional image which will reflect favorably on both the Firm and the Technology Services Team
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills which facilitates effective team collaboration
