The position is suitable for either an electrical or strong mechanical supervisor with good electrical experience and has a high standard of work. Review all safe systems of work, method statements and risk assessments produced by both in house resource and third parties working within the locations.

Ensure that the correct type of PTW is issued for the work and that all the necessary supporting documentation have been completed and correctly approved and are available.

Control the issuing of permits and ensure that those carrying out the work understand any safety requirements for the work to be carried out safely.

Ensure that all permits are closed out in accordance with the current PTW procedures.

Check that all permits and other relevant documentation have been fully completed (including clearance and cancellation).

Ensure that all permits are only issued by those authorised to do so (AP / IA / RP)

Make available copies of supporting documentation (written safe systems of work, Isolation Certificates, etc) when required for audits, H&S inspection and other times when authorised by Johnson Controls.

Confirm that written safe systems have been checked against appropriate checklist and that the responsible person has approved them.

Review certificates still in operation and confirm that they are visible and being complied with.

Ensure that all Permits to Work and Isolation Certificates are being issued to control hazardous work as per the requirements of the current PTW procedures.
