A Research position is immediately available in the Department of Medicine at NYU Langone School of Medicine. The successful applicant will investigate in human and murine cell culturing systems and well as kidney tissue, the role of endothelial protein C receptor (EPCR) in causing injury. Specifically, studies will be targeted towards understanding the role/function of EPCR during periods of endothelial dysfunction and endothelial cell detachment. Approaches include EPCR overexpression or downregulation in cultured endothelial cells and mouse kidney, and assessments with ELISA, western blot, immunocytochemistry and inmunohistochemical techniques. Responsibilities include the development of new procedures and protocols as needed, participation in collaborative projects, summarizing and reporting data, keeping proper records of experimental procedures and preparing manuscripts for publication. Applicants, with a bachelors or masters degree , MD or PhD degree, with a solid background in biochemistry and cell biology techniques, will be considered. Experience using immunoassays, western blot, immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry is desirable. The candidate should possess computer skills, including Word processing programs, Power Point Adobe Photoshop, MS Excel and common statistics programs. Must have excellent written and verbal English skills. Compensation: 35-38KPrincipals only.
