Description: The Software Engineer will analyze, design, program and test computer software programs and applications. The Software Engineer works closely with Business Analysts, Systems Analysts and Quality Assurance to assess, enhance, maintain and support software solutions to business problems. Using strong logic, computer language syntax and sequencing skills, combined with healthcare industry and practical knowledge, the Software Engineer produces, delivers and maintains application and system software providing comprehensive business solutions to the healthcare industry. Requires a bachelor`s degree in a related area and 4 years of experience as a software developer. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures necessary to build software products. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision from the Manager of Software Engineering. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Must have exceptional programming skills and be willing to code full time; i.e., candidate will take responsibility for implementing finished products based on algorithms developed. Must demonstrate track record of applying computer science to practical problems. Should be highly self-directed, a strong individual contributor and a strong team player. Responsibilities include: • Demonstrate advanced proficiency with appropriate tools and languages. • Support upgrades and product implementation, and participate in code review and QI processes. • Review functional and create technical fundamental system design documents using appropriate methodology. • Operate with some latitude for self-directed action or decision. • Apply knowledge of programming languages to develop and support high quality systems/ software with limited • Direction from management and assist in improving company’s products and processes. • Possess general knowledge of products (some cross-product knowledge), applications, and industry. • Possess strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices. • Demonstrate broad understanding and application of system analysis and software engineering principles and practices. • Work in team environment to achieve desired business unit results and provide ongoing client support. • Begin to use problem-solving techniques to analyze problems and provide resolutions without assistance from others. • Adapt to and work within different development environments, on multiple tasks within the same project or across multiple release versions. • Clearly and accurately express ideas and information; and create concise program designs, project status and technical documentation. • May rotate into a technical support function to build knowledge of products and operations. • May participate in requirements gathering and analysis, and take part in collaborative planning. 1. 3 - 5 years experience working with software development. 2. Minimum of 2 years experience working with Visual Basic, c# and Visual Studio. 3. Minimum of 2 years experience coding with .net technologies. 4. Experience with Installshield is helpful. 5. Prior experience: coding and designing with Object Oriented Programming techniques; MS SQL Server, SQL, and stored procedures; coding with JavaScript; writing and deploying using Crystal Reports; asp and asp.net; and html, xml, and web design. 6. Bachelor degree in computer science or technical background. 7. Team-oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks at once, and meet deadlines. 8. The role itself will include challenging, high quality work, focusing on confidently handling all aspects of employment and discrimination law, including executive dismissals/bonus disputes, whistleblowing and advice work. Good experience of ETs, contractual disputes, and dealing with senior executives will be beneficial and certainly expected of solicitors with greater proven PQE experience.
The successful candidate will have between 3-4 years PQE and excellent employment law knowledge. A proven track record of fee generation is essential. Litigation experience will be advantageous. Candidates must be committed to working for claimants only.
