We are a New York based expedited transportation company located in Inwood, NY.
We are looking for freight operations people for our JFK office. There are several shifts available. We will teach you operations for our Truckload, Expedite, and 3PL units. This will be an operational position with inside sales responsibilities.
Experience is not required. However we will only hire candidates who are flexible, dedicated, and on call 24/7. Candidates must also be highly motivated. Salary is a base + Commission compensation package, and total earnings is up to the individual.
You will procure loads through our network of customers, brokers, and load boards. Dispatch and negotiate rates, track shipments, ensure service commitments, utilizing our fleet of owner operators, company vehicles, and carrier agents
you will partake in the recruitment and hiring of company drivers, owner operators, and agents. You will manage each shipment from end to end.
You will earn a base salary plus commission on gross profits and sales.
The right candidate will understand the power of phone sales, good communication, commitment, and follow through, both to the service and sales processes.
This is a fast pace environment and requires a high service level, so the right candidate must have excellent communication skills. 75% of your job will be on the phone.
You must have the ability to perform and supervise different functions, including but not limited to dispatch, supporting payroll operations, routing calls, scheduling, preventative vehicle maintenance, driver/route management, etc. the correct candidate must be PC literate, able to prioritize and multi task.

Specific duties will include, but not limited to:
- Responding to quotes with immediate effect
- Responding to load postings with immediate effect
- Proactively procuring loads for our fleet of vehicles
- Dispatching and operating our fleet of vehicles from pickup to destination
- Assisting in the recruitment process
- Maintaining and developing carrier, broker & customer relationships
- Marketing and updating vehicle availability to partner companies
- Negotiating freight rates with customers, carriers and brokers
- Directing the activities of the drivers
- Tracking & updating shipment status and ensuring service commitments
- Aggressively developing and closing new clients in line with your personal and company targets
- Maintaining records of contact and sales logs
- Maintaining and updating the target client list and report on progress
- Recruiting and managing pay levels for drivers and Independent Contractors
- Responsible for Department of Transportation Compliance
- Updating, developing, and enforcing company procedures
